The Story of Celestite
Celestite, also known as Celestine, is a beautiful natural mineral recognized for its delicate sky-blue crystals and distinctive glassy appearance.
Its name originates from the Latin word caelestis, meaning heavenly, reflecting the mineral's remarkable colouring.
Composed of strontium sulfate (SrSO₄), Celestite forms naturally in sedimentary environments, where mineral-rich fluids gradually create crystals within limestone, dolomite and rock cavities.
Although best known for its beautiful blue colour, Celestite can also occur in white, colourless, grey and pink varieties, making every specimen naturally unique.
