Discover the remarkable beauty of natural geological formations with the Earth Discoveries Agate Geodes.

Each specimen contains a genuine Agate Geode, carefully cut and polished to reveal its beautiful internal crystal formations and distinctive natural patterns. Perfect for collecting, displaying or gifting.

The Story of Agate Geodes

Agate Geodes are fascinating natural geological formations, recognized for their beautiful mineral patterns, distinctive bands of colour and sparkling internal crystals.

These remarkable formations develop when silica-rich water enters natural cavities within rocks, particularly volcanic rocks, gradually depositing layers of chalcedony along the cavity walls.

Over thousands to millions of years, changes in mineral impurities and environmental conditions create intricate patterns and beautiful bands of colour.

As the cavity gradually fills, larger quartz crystals may develop towards the centre, sometimes leaving a hollow space lined with sparkling crystals.

Composed primarily of silicon dioxide (SiO₂), Agate Geodes belong to the quartz mineral family and have a hardness of approximately 6.5–7 on the Mohs scale.

Every Agate Geode is naturally unique, with variations in size, shape, colour, banding and crystal formation.
