Are the fossils & specimens Real?
Yes! All fossils and specimens included in our Earth Discoveries kits are 100% genuine.
Will I damage the specimen while excavating it?
Fragile specimens are protected within a casing before being placed inside the excavation material, helping to prevent damage while you dig.
More durable specimens, such as the fossil teeth in our Shark Tooth Excavation Blocks, are placed directly within the excavation material. Because these are genuine fossils and can be naturally fragile, we cannot guarantee that every tooth will remain completely intact during excavation.
We recommend taking your time and excavating carefully to give your specimens the best protection.
What if I damage the specimen while excavating it?
Don’t worry! Minor chips or breaks can sometimes happen when excavating genuine fossils and specimens. In many cases, a small amount of super glue can be used to carefully repair the specimen.
Fragile specimens in our kits are protected within a casing to help reduce the risk of damage. However, because every specimen is genuine and naturally varies in strength and condition, we recommend taking your time and excavating carefully.
