About

Mosasaurus

Mosasaurs were powerful marine reptiles that inhabited the world's oceans during the Late Cretaceous, approximately 100–66 million years ago. Some species reached lengths of up to 14 metres, making them among the most formidable marine predators of their time. These remarkable reptiles possessed streamlined bodies, powerful tails and strong jaws lined with sharp, conical teeth. They hunted a wide variety of marine animals, including fish, sharks, ammonites, turtles and other reptiles. Although they lived alongside dinosaurs, mosasaurs were not dinosaurs themselves, but a separate group of marine reptiles related to modern lizards and snakes.
